OVERVIEW: In this unit we review the meaning of the Hebrew
word >MiShMeReTh< We suggest that the fundamental meaning
is >PROFESSIONALISM<.


This >PROFESSIONALISM< manifests itself either
-----in PROFESSIONAL standards---safeguards
--or-in PROFESSIONAL training----learning


At the beginning of this module we saw that the verse
Nu07-03a emphasizes this aspect of PROFESSIONALISM.
In the remaining modules we explore Rashis which
present the 2 reasons: a) TRAINING, b) STANDARDS.

We beging today with the Rashis denoting learning

NUANCE A:
PROFESSIONALISM emphasizes LEARNING the TRADES PROCEDURES

There are many Rashis where the Hebrew root

is interpreted as
        >Learning




This looks at the task of the Jew as an
        >"an appointed position/an office"
        >something that requires vocational training (LEARNING)

COMMENT: Notice how we interpret "make a JOB of doing the
commandments" instead of translating "LEARN to do the
commandments". Thus we preserve the unifying nuances of
