Subject: Re: Proof of Torah mi-Sinai

QUESTION: What is the proof of the divinity of the Torah from
the laws of Kosher.

ANSWER:
This proof is mentioned in Chulin and is brought down by Malbim in Lev 11.
Basically the Torah says that an animal is Kosher if it has TWO signs
(split hoof, chews the cud). The torah then lists THE 4 animals that only
have one of these signs.

Remarkably these are the ONLY 4 animals on the globe that have EXACTLY 1 of
these 4 signs. There are no others

So this is taken as proof that Moses was a prophet.

In passing, Lev 11 is used by George Boole, the father of Boolean algebra
and modern computers as a good example of formal logic in his ground
breaking book on the subject, The Laws of Thought .
