Subject: Re: Blessings on Non-Kosher Food

Melissa asks (Torah Forum Vol 4 Number 87) about the requirements of saying
blessings on non kosher foods. I have better advice.

If her parents are becoming Kosher style then it shouldn't be hard for
Melissa to incorporate permissable food into her meals. It is usually
possible to augment a meal with a variety of foods that are consistent in
style to the rest of the meal and meet Kosher requirements without anyone
getting offended.
