------------------------------------------------------------
VERSE: Lv01-10a
RULE: The torah frequently repeats sentences or whole paragraphs
with minor changes in phrases. This breakup is a pedagogic method
which allows inferences of laws from changes in phraseology.
EXAMPLES
--------
(1) Lv01 contains 2 almost identical paragraphs on BURNT OFFERINGS
whether they be of CATTLE (Lv01-01:09) or SHEEP(Lv01-10:13)*1
NOTES
-----
*1 Throughout this Email list we refer to such lineups of similar
verses as DOUBLE PARSHAS. Rashi simply mentions the GENERAL PRINCIPLE
here without giving further examples.
*2 The word "VAV" in Rashi does NOT refer to the letter VAV but
rather the whole PARAGRAPH. See the main posting for further
details
