VERSE: Gn46-10a

A review of the 70 people mentioned in Gn46 shows that
only one of them is given maternal ancestry:

SHAUL THE SON OF THE CANAANITE WOMAN


A further problem is that the other 2 Patriarchs all
forbade their children to marry Canaanites.

Hence Rashi is Simple and suggests that SHAUL was the son
of DINAH who was raped by a CANAANITE, Schem (Gn35).*1
