NOTES
-----
*1 The following example is somewhat more complicated

(10)Ex19-13a "Be involved in THROWING stones at the guilty"

RASHI: One could kill the excecuted by eg throwing him
from a height of 100 feet--but that would disfigure him
and kill him immediately. Instead the guilty is executed
by throwing him from a sufficient height that might kill
him and if not the witnesses and then the nation keep on
throwing stones at him. Thus intrinsic to the death
penalty is the concept of 'repeatedly throwing'

In the main posting it is shown that the idea of repeatedly
throwing mainly comes from several other verses like Nu15-35,
Lv24-14, Dt17-05:07. It is also shown how this Rashi overrides
a talmudic derivation in Sanhedrin 45a. Finally the various
other words in this verse are discussed and it is shown how
the laws may be derived from them.
