VERSE: Dt24-14a

Dt25-14a Don't WITHOLD wages from a LABORER
Lv19-13 Do not KEEP overnight THE WORKINGS OF A LABORER
                 *1 *2

Dt25-15 Give him his pay on time so that HE SHOULD NOT CALL TO GOD
Dt15-09 Watch out lest you not loan and HE WILL CALL TO GOD
                                                   *3

NOTES
-----
*1 Whoever witholds wages from a laborer violates 2 Biblical
Chapters (Dt25 and Lv19)

*2 The prohibitions of witholding wages applies no matter
who did the work. Whether it was (a) a Laborer himself
(b) the machinery (Workings) of a laborer (c) the animals
of a laborer (NOTE That this law is learned from Lv19-13 and
is not learned from any phrase in Dt25-14 even though Rashi
cites it there)

*3 From the contrast "HE WILL CALL TO GOD" vs "HE WILL not CALL
TO GOD" we learn that it is OPTIONAL but not OBLIGATORY for
a worker (or someone deprived of a loan) to pray (They can
pray in anguish but do not have to)
