VERSE: Dt23-19c

RULE: The Hebrew word, GAM, ALSO, denotes something extra and
has 3 applications---(1) an extra object (2) a derived object
(3) an analogous situation or relationship.

EXAMPLES
--------
(1) ALSO can denote SOMEONE or SOMETHING else as in
Gn20-05a "Sarah ALSO said that Abraham was her brother"
RASHI:Both Sarah and ALSO her maids said Abraham was Sarah's brother

(2) ALSO can denote a DERIVED OBJECT as in  Dt32-19c
Bringing a prostitutes payment for a temple offering
is ALSO disgusting". RASHI: eg If you paid her in wheat you should
not bring wheat to the temple. ALSO if you paid her in wheat
you should not bring flour (Derived from wheat) to the temple

(3) ALSO can denote a SIMILAR SITUATION in another category as in
Gn07-03 "Take 7 Kosher animals (male and female) and 2 non
kosher animals (male and female). ALSO from the birds take 7
(male and female)" RASHI: That is, take 7 Kosher birds (male
and female) and 2 non kosher birds (Male and female)(So
Rashis point is that the birds and animals are treated the same
Each has MALE and FEMALE)
