VERSE: Dt11-12c

RULE: The Hebrew Letter HEY when it occurs before a word indicates
a PROPER NOUN (similar to using a capital in English)

EXAMPLES:
---------
(1) Dt06-17 "THE Masah" refers to the name of a place*1
(2) Dt11-12 "THE New Year" refers to Rosh Hashanah
(3) Dt19-03 "Prepare THE Highway"--THE Highway is the MAIN Road
and hence should look like a Hiway (with signs pointing directions
(4) Gn28-11 "& he bumped into THE Place" refers to Moriah where
Abraham sacrificed Isaac and where the Temple was built*2

NOTES
-----
*1 The Hebrew word Masah means TRIALS and in fact the place
named MASAH was so named because the Jews TRIED God. If the Biblical

sentence lacked the word THE then MSH would be interpreted as TRIALS
Do not test God the way you tested him in your many TRIALS Since
however the Biblical sentence does have the word THE we would
interpret it as "Do not test God as you tested him in MASAH"

*2 We mention two other sentences using this principle.

Dt21-01 "& YOUR Elders will go out"---YOUR ELDERS refers to the
members of the Great Sanhedrin (Thus YOUR ELDERS is interpreted
similar to THE ELDERS).

Gn01-31 "& There was morning and there was evening THE 6th day"
Rashi says "THE 6th day" refers to the holiday of Shavuoth which
happens on the 6th day (Just as the American JULY 4th is the name
of a holiday). According to this interpretation Genesis 1 describes
the history of Prophecy from Adam and Eve to the giving of the
Torah (On Shavuoth "The 6th day" holiday).
