H Davidson in Volume 1 Number 92 asks:
< < Do you know a source through which I can learn how to "lane" Tehilim &
Mishlei according to the Mesora Ta'amim?> >
This question has appeared on other email groups (eg Mail-Jewish).
One suggestion I once gave was to use the Haftarah nigun and translate the
Tehillim teamim into haftarah nigunim according to the following table
CORRESONDENCE BETWEEN TORAH and TEHILIM NEGUNIM
===============================================
TEHILIM NIGUN TORAH NIGUN FORM OF NIGUN
- ------------- ------------- --------------
Ethnachta Ethnachta Same form
DChi Tipchah Same form (different name)
Sof Posook Sof Posook Same form
Ravia Mugrash Zakef Koton Azlah Geresh+Revii
Mpch Pasthah Mnc Rvia Mpch Pastha Zakef Koton (Looks like Rvii)
mnch mnch ethnactha marcha tipchah ethnach
The above correspondence covers 90% of the verses and will enable you to
comfortably read tehillim with a "nice" niggun.
Hope this helps
