SUCCINCT SUMMARY
----------------
One of Rashis main goals is to give meaning the same way
a dictionary gives meaning. Rashi had a variety of vehicles
to give meaning

EXAMPLE 1 Gn15-05a
------------------
The Hebrew root Nun-Beth-Tet does not mean SEE (as it is
usually translated) but rather TO FACE something. Hence
Gn15-05a: God said to Abraham FACE IT---in your present
personality you cant have children...leave your world
and FACE the multiplicity of personalities; get another
personality and have children

EXAMPLE 2 Dt33-16b Gn33-10c
---------------------------
Resh-Tzade-Hey, whose primary meaning is TO WANT / DESIRE
can also mean TO BE DESIRABLE. Hence Gn33-10c Take my
gift so I know I am desirable to you or Dt33-16b ..he
is desirable to God

EXAMPLE 3 Gn15-05a
------------------
Words can transfer meaning to items of similar form.
Hence the word KaF which originally means HAND can also
refer to SOLE OF FEET, SMALL CLOUDS, the KNEECAP and
SPOONS all of which have the same form as hands
