SUCCINCT SUMMARY ---------------- A powerful but simple Rashi method is the CITATION or CROSS- REFERENCING of an OTHER VERSE for the purpose of adding FURTHER DETAILS to a verse we are studying. We call this the Rashi METHOD of OTHER VERSES and the Rashi submethod of FURTHER DETAILS EXAMPLE Nu23-19a ---------------- Nu23-19a -------------------------------- GOd doesn't double cross... If he says will he not keep... -------------------------------- The reference to God keeping his word refers to an OTHER VERSE Ex06-04:08 states --------------------------------- I God will take you out of Egypt and bring you to Israel --------------------------------- In other words - since God promised the Jews Israel - therefore, they can't die now in the wilderness as you requested since God would not be able to bring them to Israel.
